Waste Heat Recovery

Florida Gas is participating in a voluntary program to spur development of natural gas fired turbine compressor station exhaust heat recovery for power generation, as detailed in a INGAA white paper entitled “Waste Heat Recovery” Opportunities: Pipelines Present Energy Efficient Proposal”. The white paper recommends posting a notification including stations that meet the following:
1. Have a total gas turbine station capacity of at least 15,000 hp; and,
2. Operated at or more than 5,200 hours (60% load factor) over the last 12 months.
Florida Gas currently has five gas turbine compressor stations that meet the criteria located in Mobile County, AL (Mt. Vernon Compressor Station), Santa Rosa County, FL (Munson Station), St. Landry Parish, LA (Port Barre Station), Gadsden County, FL (Quincy Station), Gilchrist County, FL (Trenton Station)
